01Scope & who we are
This policy covers the Widget Island (“小岛”) iOS app, its companion widgets, and island.layseallone.com. The operator is the developer of Widget Island (“we”, “us”).
This policy describes the current version. Widget Island does not require an account and does not integrate advertising SDKs, third-party behavioral analytics, or a developer-operated cloud service for syncing user data.
02What stays on your device
To provide the features you select, the app stores information on your device, including in the App Group shared by the app and its widgets:
- Widget designs, colors, text, favorites, saved configurations, goals, and timer state;
- Resized copies of photos you select, crop settings, and Home Screen screenshots and crops you import for transparent backgrounds;
- Milestone names and dates, and habit check-in history;
- Baby nicknames and feeding, sleep, diaper, and pumping records you enter;
- Weather, music, and health summaries cached for connected features.
The app does not upload this content to a server operated by us. Some local data may be included in operating-system backups or device migration, depending on your Apple settings. This is separate from app-provided cloud sync.
03Photos, location & music permissions
Photos. The system photo picker shares only the images you select; it does not grant the app access to browse your entire library. Wallpaper export may request add-only photo permission or use the system share sheet. A camera-style photo frame does not access your camera.
Location and weather. When you choose to connect weather, the app requests location access while in use and uses your location to request forecasts from Apple WeatherKit. Weather results are cached on your device. The app does not build a history of your whereabouts.
Apple Music. With your permission, the app reads available library songs, track information, and playback state, downloads artwork for widgets, and controls playback through the system player. Music services and artwork requests communicate with Apple services. Some playback requires an eligible subscription.
You may decline these permissions and continue using features that do not need them. You can change permissions in iOS Settings and Apple Health’s app-access controls. Apple processes information under its own Privacy Policy.
04Health & sensitive information
Only when you choose to connect Apple Health does the app request the relevant read permissions: steps, walking and running distance, exercise minutes, active energy, heart rate, running workouts and routes, dietary water, and sleep. You choose which categories to allow. The app does not write data to Apple Health.
Health information is used only for your selected health and activity widgets. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or data trading, and the app does not upload it to developer-operated servers. Running, hydration, and sleep summaries use a file-protected local cache excluded from system backups. Workout routes are cached as a normalized outline, not persisted as original GPS coordinates. Walking and activity summaries are stored separately in local shared preferences; the specific backup exclusion above does not apply to every kind of data.
Care records, photos, and health information can be sensitive. Enter only what you need. Widgets display the content you choose, so consider who can see your device screen.
05This website & essential connection data
This website is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare. To deliver pages, operate its network, and protect the service, Cloudflare processes necessary connection data such as IP address, request time, page path, and browser or device request information. Processing may occur across its global network and is subject to Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
Our website code does not add advertising, visitor analytics, tracking pixels, cookies, or localStorage. The language is determined by the English or Chinese page URL you choose; we do not automatically switch based on browser language. Cloudflare may still apply necessary security mechanisms according to its service configuration.
07Retention, deletion & your controls
Local settings and records remain until you change or delete them in the app, or fully delete the app and its associated local data using iOS. Removing a saved widget removes that saved configuration; it does not necessarily erase all photos, records, or caches. Some unused photo copies may remain locally until app data is cleared. Offloading an app while keeping its documents and data is different from deleting it.
You can edit or delete records where the relevant editor provides those controls, and withdraw permissions in Apple Health or iOS Settings. Disconnecting the running, hydration, and sleep connection clears its associated local summary cache. Other cached information may remain until refreshed, replaced, or removed with the app. Revoking permissions does not delete original information in Apple Health, Photos, or Apple Music.
Manage operating-system backups, exported files, and copies shared with other services separately. We do not hold your on-device records and cannot remotely access, export, or recover them. Hosting connection data is handled under Cloudflare’s applicable policies.
08Your rights & security
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to be informed, access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive portable data, and withdraw consent. You may also complain to a competent regulator. For data held only on your device, use the local controls described in this policy.
We minimize processing and use operating-system permissions and platform protections. No method of storage or transmission is absolutely secure. Please protect your device, backups, and anything you choose to share.
09Children
Widget Island is for a general audience. Care widgets are intended for parents and authorized adult caregivers to record daily information, not for children to submit information independently. Minors should use the app with a parent or guardian’s permission and guidance. Record information about another person only when you are authorized to do so.
10Changes to this policy
We will update this policy and its date when features or processing practices change. Material changes will receive appropriate notice, and we will obtain renewed consent where the law requires it. You may keep a copy of this policy.
English and Chinese versions are provided, with English displayed by default. Both are intended to convey the same meaning. A translation difference does not reduce your rights under applicable law.
